Head of Empirical Research (m/f/d)

The Institute for Economic Education (IÖB) is an affiliated institute of the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg in the field of educational research. At the IÖB, scientific questions of economic education are dealt with and concepts, materials and media for teaching economics are developed and tested. Currently, the institute is establishing and expanding an independent area of "Empirical Teaching-Learning Research" with a quantitative profile. The position advertised here will lead this area.

What you can expect:

  • Establishment and autonomous management of a working area in the institute
  • Scientific examination of research questions in business didactics
  • Design, implementation and evaluation of quantitative surveys in schools
  • Participation in the conception of experimental research designs
  • Participation in project acquisition (review of funding opportunities, application)
  • Preparation of scientific publications

What we require:

  • Very good or good degree with a focus on didactics of economics, economics, pedagogy, psychology, or social sciences
  • Very good knowledge of empirical research methods (primarily quantitative)
  • Very good knowledge of using software for data preparation and analysis
  • Proven knowledge and experience in the design/validation of questionnaires/test items
  • Proven knowledge and experience in working with experimental designs
  • Willingness to work constructively in a team
